Bubbles!

I gave Kevin his first bubble bath tonight. We had fun, but Kevin was afraid of the bubbles! He refused to sit down and would only lightly touch the bubbles. After a few minutes he had enough and wanted out. Poor guy. I guess we will wait a while before we try the bubble bath again.Checking out the bubbles on my hand.

Being silly, with bubbles on his head.

He's still not sure about the bubbles.

And now he's done! :-)

The Rooster

Kevin has a small board book that shows different farm animals and what sounds they make. His favorite is the rooster and his sound "Cock a doodle doo". Today we have read the book about 10 times and after we got to the rooster Kevin shocked me by saying "Cock". Now he is running around the house saying Cock! I have tried to get him to say Cock a doodle doo, and once I got Cock da do.

Thank goodness we don't need to go anywhere, if not I would be afraid he would look at someone and say Cock. And they would be thinking, what is that lady teaching her child?!

Jungle Java PLAY!!!

My Mom's group had a lunch get together at this place in Round Rock called Jungle Java Play. For kids under 2 it is only $3 so we decided to give it a try. It was the best $3 I have spent. Kevin had a blast!

There is a section for just toddlers (3 and under) and a bigger kid section for 4 and up, and even basketball and a zip line for even older kids. They have a full menu so you can eat, drink and play. For about an hour Kevin played in the toddler area, he liked that he could climb up it himself and go down the slide without any help.

After an hour, he got brave and went into the big kid area. Up there he had a BLAST! He could practically run up the stairs and loved checking everything out. There is a big slide going down, that we had to go down together. I really liked that is perfect for little people, but is big enough for parents to go in with their kids. I was in there with about 3 other parents and a lot of kids.

Kevin was the youngest playing in the big kid area but all the kids were really well behaved. There were a lot of kids there, but none of them pushed Kevin out of the way (well one did, but he stopped and apologized) and all the parents were really nice, everyone paid attention to their kids. It is a great place, we will certainly go many times. This is going to be a great place to do in the summer when it is too hot outside. And I feel real comfortable knowing that the kids are well behaved and won't get too rough with the littler kids. Plus it is a great way for Kevin to play to his hearts content and tucker himself out. :-)

This was a zip line in the big kids area.

Poor Kevin.

Well it looks like Kevin might have a bit of a cold, or something. He is running a very low fever and is very cranky. He hasn't been sleeping well and is really into cuddling. Since he isn't feeling too well we have been laying low for the last few days. But today I had to go get him a haircut. This morning he took most of his banana and smeared it in his hair. It makes a really nice gel :-).

Here are some photos of the last few days and his new haircut.

Putting on his cape to get his haircut. You can see how shaggy he was looking.
And the meltdown. He cried in the very beginning and would not let me go. The lady cutting his hair was so sweet and let him take his time, letting go of me so we could switch sides.
The finished product. He is actually smiling, he likes to scrunch up his face when he sees the camera. And you can see a little residual tear in his eye from him crying.
Looking through the fence at the neighbors cocker spaniel, Misty. She barked the whole time we were outside yesterday and Kevin just had to see what her commotion was all about.

I was going through the cat toys and found this battery operated mouse. I let Bailey and Kevin play with if for a while yesterday. I thought Kevin would be afraid of it, but he wasn't. Bailey liked to chase it, but when it was aimed right at her she would dart off.

Outdoor Adventures!

It is such a beautiful day today that I thought it would be great to play in the backyard. Kevin had a great time. And Bailey the cat did too. I quickly learned that Bailey is a lot quicker than Kit used to be. In a flash she ran under our fence and into the backyard behind our house.

I ran around to catch her, but she hid behind bushes so I couldn't get her. Fortunately when I knocked on the neighbor's door their dog started barking and she ran back under our fence. I was able to catch her and she is now grounded. Every time I open the door she tries to bolt out, so we are all going to play inside the rest of the afternoon.

But here are some great pictures from our adventure.
