And we are back!

For the last week we have been on our family vacation to the Bahamas. Last night we made it home. We had a blast! Over the next few days I will try and update the blog with our adventures. For now I will leave you with a few fun photos.

A family photo at the Atlantis Aquarium.

Our sweet little boy!

Kevin after eating a Popsicle.

Kevin on the plane, notice his legs. He hated being strapped in and was constantly kicking. It made a long 3 hour flight and unfortunately the entire plane heard him complaining.

I am officially Momma!

For 18 months and 13 days I have been looking forward to hearing Kevin say "Momma". Yes, I have been counting! In the past he would say "Mama" it but it meant Banana. Then he began saying "ummy" which we thought was Mommy. But it really meant "yummy". On some random days he would say "Ommy" but the next day he wouldn't say it. And I was never sure what it really meant.

Well this Sunday he began saying Momma, and it sounded like he meant me. I figured on Monday he wouldn't say it again. But he did say it again. Usually when going down for a nap or to bed. Well today he continued calling me Momma, so I think I can officially say he is calling me!

I am so excited. He has said "Daddy" for over a month now so I was hoping my name wasn't far behind.

To date here are the words Kevin says: OK, Banana (Nana), Blueberry, Thank you, Night Night, Bye Bye, Up, Down, Kitty, Ball, Ball (this one means balloon), eye, bath, Yea!, car, NO, Peas (meaning Please), cup, uk (means book), More? More!, Bailey (the cat), baby, cookie.

For sounds he likes to Meow, say Woof Woof, Cock a (doodle doo, we have to add that part), Baa like a sheep and Roar like a Lion. Sometimes he will Moo like a cow.

I know there are more, but that is all I can think of right now.

Kevin's first pool party!

Today we went to a friend Ashleigh's house to celebrate her 2nd birthday. Her parents got a wonderful waterslide and had two little pools set up for the kids. Everyone was anywhere from 1-3 years old and had a blast!

Kevin really liked it when they put a little slide into kid pool. He did want to go down the big slide, but when we got to the top he got really scared and refused to go down. The other neat thing about the party is that I was able to try out my new camera. It is waterproof. So I was able to get wet and play with Kevin and not worry about my camera getting wet.

Here are a few pictures from the party.

I'm not ready for this!

Kevin figured out how to climb out of his crib! This morning Steve and I heard Kevin chatting and occasionally doing a little cry/holler. We left him in there so we could get some stuff done when suddenly we heard the "I'm hurt" cry. Next thing we knew we heard him running down the hall. We were shocked, he got out of his crib! Fortunately he wasn't hurt, just pretty scared.

We have no idea how he got out. I think he either got his foot out the side slab and used the recliner to get out, or he just climbed up the front.

I am really hoping he won't be able to do it again. Just in case I did move the recliner so he can't use it to boost himself out. I'm not ready for him to be a in a big boy bed yet!

A new form of potty training?!?

I think he was excited to find his own indoor mini pool. Just another reason why I have child proof locks on the toilet and toilet paper. Now I just have to remember to use them. (Sorry the picture is bad quality, it was taken with my camera phone.)

Kevin is a year and half!

A year and a half already! It is amazing how much he has grown in the last year. Kevin had a great checkup this morning. He weighs 27lbs 14oz (75% for his age) and is over 33 inches tall (73%). I can't believe he is almost 3 feet tall! He has hit all of his milestones, and a few 2 year milestones as well. The physicians assistant was a bit surprised that he still won't say Momma or Dada. But was impressed with blueberry and thank you.

She did warn me that this is a difficult time because he will like to experiment. i.e. what happens when I throw this toy in the garbage. What will it be like if I run out into the street. etc. We have already seen a few of these experiments but it sounds like there are a lot more to come. :-)

I want to capture the moment and keep it in a bottle.

This evening Kevin was so cute. He had gotten his bath, was dressed for bed, and sweetly looked at me and said Night Night. I grabbed his milk and followed him to his crib. He dropped his toy, said Up. I picked him up and he gave me a nice long cuddle. Then leaned over and I put him in his crib. As I walked out he said Night Night and what some what sounded like Love you.

This is a moment I don't want to forget. So I am blogging it, so I can share it with the world.
