So tonight you did NOT want to go to bed. We put you down around 7:30 (normally bedtime is 7pm) and you did not fall asleep until 9:30. You cried, you played, you did everything but fall asleep. It was funny when I tried to go in and get you to sleep with me (you really don't like sleeping with anyone, but I was desperate) instead you kept giving me all your stuffed toys and asking me to kiss them. It was so cute to see you stick a stuffed Lightning McQueen in my face and say "Kiss, Mommy!".
You are so cute, even when you are really grumpy and should be sleeping. :-)
Now here is hoping you sleep all night and get up at a decent time. But it seems like most of the time if you go to bed late, you get up earlier. But here's hoping that since I wrote it, you will prove me wrong. :-)
Love you,
Night Night baby.

Sandwich!
This might sound a little crazy but today you ate your very first sandwich! Woo Hoo! We have been trying for months to get you to eat a sandwich. Everytime we gave you one you would open it up and lick out the peanut butter or jelly. Never eat the bread. You always got so messy, jelly in your hair, peanut butter up your nose. :-)
You also just went through a phase where you would demand to have a sandwich. I got tired of making them for you because you wouldn't eat it, sometimes you wouldn't even touch it! But lately I would just make you a half of a sandwich with the heel of the loaf. I don't really like the heel (your Dad does though). And frequently it would just get thrown out or fed to the ducks at the pond. So I didn't mind if I "wasted" it by giving it to you and you not eating it.
But today was a different story, You started to lick out the jelly, but for the umpteenth time we showed you how to eat it properly. And you did! You ended up eating the entire thing! Along with 4 chicken nuggets, about 10 sun chips and a small container of apple sauce. You were a hungry little boy!
And you made me proud. You finally ate a sandwich!! Yea!

This is my dream for you
This is a poem I found, and it is very true.
This is my wish for you:
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Comfort on difficult days,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Hugs when spirits sag.
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Faith so that you can believe,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
Love to complete your life.

Tuckered out
Today after we went to Kenny's Coffee for breakfast we walked over to the Katherine Fleisher park and you played with your friends, Navi, Soni, Kyra and Macy. You had a blast after an hour and a half everyone was ready to go, but you really didn't want to leave. But alas we had to go. When we got home I gave you a little lunch and worked on getting things done. You got really quiet. So I went to check on you. Your head was laying on the back of the chair and your eyes were barely open. You saw me and said Night Night. :-)
It was so cute! So I did what you wanted. Got you up and put you down for your nap. It was about half an hour early, but I had to obligue.
Now you did only sleep for 45 minutes, and you were pretty cranky the rest of the day. But it was really cute to see you so tired and wanting a nap.

Austin Children's Museum
A dear friend Leslie and her son Andy invited us to join them at the Austin's Children's Museum last week. We had never been and were excited to check it out. We loved it!
Kevin really enjoyed running around and checking out all the activities and there were three that really kept him entertained. One area was where there is a little mariachi band area set up. He loved playing the "guitar" and the drums. Across from that was this little pinata fish, the kids would grab balls and fill the pinata, then pull a string and the balls would all fall out. Kevin had so much fun filling it and then pulling the string, and then doing it all over again. But his absolute favorite was the train.
He loved watching the train come in and out of the station, but he really loved listening to the different types of train whistles. He would push the button and try to imitate the sound. They had about 10 different train whistle sounds. It was pretty funny.

This is Kevin's friend Andy who invited us to join him. He loved the trains as much as Kevin did. I really love this photo of him, it seemed to capture the moment perfectly, each kids excitement and amazement as they saw the train up close and personal. The train goes by pretty quickly so the kids have to be fast to catch it, Andy was great at catching it, Kevin wasn't always as quick. :-)

I see feet!
You are really into the movie Car's right now. And it is so funny to hear you walking around the house saying "I see feet!" What you are actually meaning is "Speed, I am speed" One of Lightning McQueens opening lines in the movie. It is too cute.

Sshhhh! Cars sleeping!
This morning Kevin ran up to me saying "sshhhh! Cars seeping", now seeping means sleeping. But I was really confused and had no idea why he was saying "cars sleeping". So he grabbed my hand and dragged me into the living room. That is when I saw his cars were "sleeping". Too cute!
As I grabbed the camera to capture the sleeping cars, Kevin decided that I needed to take photos of Lightening McQueen. So he was holding up McQueen saying "McQueen, cheese!"
